Ms. Baratelli's Music Page

Welcome to the Music page for Elbow Valley Elementary. My name is Kristi Baratelli and I am one of the music teachers at Elbow Valley Elementary. I am a graduate of the University of Victoria. I am thrilled to be working with children from Kindergarten to Grade 4. I began my teaching career in British Columbia in 1994 and taught there for 6 years before moving to Alberta, becoming a teacher in Rockyview in 2000.

Elbow Valley Elementary School's Music program focuses on engaging the needs of 21st century learners within the music classroom in order to nurture the development of the whole child. Through the systematic development of musical skills, students will be encouraged to explore their own creative expression through performances, listening and composing. Students will learn about music and musicians of the past and present. They will also gain awareness and appreciation of a variety of music, including music from Canadian cultures as well as other cultures from around the world. Most importantly, students will be encouraged to enjoy music through a variety of meaningful musical activities.
